Our mission is providing the amateur golfer with golf clubs that fit properly and by providing a check-up on every club in the bag; diagnosing problems; and writing a prescription to a better game. Too many amateur golfers run the cycle of thinking that the purchase of new clubs will be the cure to bring down their handicap. After purchasing their new medicine they quickly learn that they have the same old virus...ill fitting clubs. OK, enough of the medical metaphors, but you get the idea.
Imagine if there were a one-size-fits-all suit store. Imagine if the suits were made of expensive and technologically advanced materials. Imagine if there were many brands and colours, but again, all the same size. Then imagine if these suits were pivotal to your happiness, or discontent, every time you wore them. And you wore them often. Most of us would look and feel very peculiar in a one-size-fits-all world.
This is how golf clubs were sold for most of the last century. In fact, a vast majority of golfers still buy drivers and sets of irons off the rack, as if the clubs were one-size-fits-all. Sure, a golfer might choose between a regular or a stiff flex shaft, but even that decision was probably predicated on a guess and not any practical measurement.
Fortunately, in the last ten years technology has allowed golfers and golf equipment to be studied more closely. Launch monitors and simulators allow our swings to be analyzed in great detail. From these studies we've learned one thing in particular, one size does not fit all. What works for one person with a 70 mph swing speed and a bad slice will not work for another person with a 110 mph swing and a hook. Club fitting is not going to magically turn you into a scratch golfer, but without the clubs fitting you properly, the chances of improvement become limited.
So, what is club fitting? Club fitting is adjusting clubs to your swing speed, height, arm length, hand size, swing shape and swing tempo. A good fitting measures all these parameters and then adjusts your clubs accordingly. Clubs can be adjusted for length, lie, shaft flex, shaft bend point, grip size, and swing weight. The Club Doctor Ltd. has invested in equipment and education to apply today’s science to your golf clubs. We have a state of the art Ultimate Lie/Loft Bending Machine, and a Optishot Infrared Golf Simulator that will analyze your swing, club head speed, face angle, swing path, toe/centre/heel - face contact, as well as visual feedback on every shot using your clubs and the golf ball that you play with at your favourite course. The Club Doctor Ltd. is proud of being certified as a Master Club Performance Specialist from the Mitchell Golf Equipment Institute having been certified in Club Repair, Shaft Performance Technology and Club Performance Technology. We invite you to visit our Certified Technician page that will explain what training we have received and give you the confidence to bring your clubs to our shop.

No wonder the average score of the average golfer, which is about 100, has not changed in 40 years. We’re playing with average clubs, and come on, we know that most of us are not average. When you go to the driving range do you ever see an average person hitting balls? No ...everyone is different. Some are tall. Some are short. Some are fast swingers. Some are slow. Some are pushing to the right. Some are pulling to the left. There are men, women, boys and girls; that fat ones and the skinny ones, God bless them all, ...but there are no average ones.
In addition to club fitting, The Club Doctor Ltd. also provides other services such as club charting, re-gripping, re-attach club heads, shaft replacement and custom built golf clubs. We invite you to look at our Services and Prices page. We offer big store services for a lot less.
